Microsoft’s Xbox360 used to claim to have better and more exclusives then Sony’s PS3, in 2011 there’s currently 11 exclusives for the Xbox 360 confirmed to be released this year and 21 for the ps3 to be released this year. In this post I want to discuss a few of the Playstation3 exclusives, mainly because the games I am going to write about are sequels or a newer version of a game.

Sony plan for their upcoming NGP handheld to co-exist alongside with the current PSP just as the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 are at the moment, to fit in with their promise of the “Ten year life plan” for their gaming platforms.
The original PSP was released back in December of 2004, so is currently just over 6 years old. Although the PSP has been a success for Sony, it never really hit the high sales Sony really expected from the device… but can it really last another 4 years? Read more »
HP Reveals It’s TouchPad Tablet with WebOS
Just this evening (morning in San Francisco, where the event was held), HP revealed what seems to be a serious competitor to Apple’s iPad, the HP TouchPad! The tablet runs WebOS, the operating system that HP aquired when they bought Palm for $1.2 billion!
Since HP bought Palm, the whole industry has been wondering what is going to happen to WebOS. It seemed obvious that HP would try and do something with it for phones, but they’ve gone one step further and ported it into a Tablet. Rumors went around about how HP were going to be developing a tablet named the PalmPad, these were quickly ignored as HP filed a trademark for the name “TouchPad” and here it is!

The Mobile social photo application battle has been taken to the next level today. Recent startup PicPlz made three rather big announcements today that could force some serious competition against rival app Instagram!
Not very long ago, PicPlz announced the following:
- Public use of it’s API (Application Programming Interface) so that other applications will be able to make use of PicPlz’s filters and other tools.
- The option for users to publish their photos taken with PicPlz under a Creative Commons licence
- And lastly a new dashboard including various analytics for advertisers and uploaders on PicPlz.
Not too long ago, Instagram was known as the best and quite possibly largest mobile photo app available. However it was only out on the Apple iPhone. Nobody is exactly sure what it was about Instagram that made it so popular, without a proper website it still managed to gain 1 million users in just 10 weeks time!

One of the UK’s Supermarket leaders Sainsbury’s has just posted that they will be offering the Nintendo 3DS on pre-order for £199.99 (With 1000 free Nectar Points).
The Nintendo 3DS is launching in the UK on the 25th of March, bringing the highly anticipated ??autostereoscopic glasses-less 3D screen to the palm of our hands.
Despite the high price tag of £199.99, which is more or less equal to the current price of the PlayStation 3 and latest Xbox 360 250GB model, the 3DS is expected to be a huge success.
Expect more information and pictures of the 3DS in action tommorow, as Joe and Chris are live at the Nintendo 3DS Pre-Launch Event in Manchester, keep tuned!

1 day closer to the Superbowl, and yet another advert has been released. This time it’s for the Motorola Xoom, Motorola’s attempt at competing against the Apple iPad. Unlike the Volkswagen advert however, Motorola have only decided to let us see just 15 seconds of their advert!
Despite being short, it still manages to show off some features of the Xoom such as 3D maps with Google Maps.
Posted by: ChrisGoogle Chrome 9 Released!

Google announced earlier that they have just released the latest version to their popular Internet browser, Google Chrome! They say that they have added 3 key new features to the browser; WebGL, Chrome Instant and updates to the Chrome Web Store.
WebGL is a new technology which brings hardware-accelerated 3D graphics to the browser. With WebGL in Chrome, you can experience rich 3D experiences right inside the browser with no need for additional software.
Those of you who have used Google Instant before, shall be familiar with Chrome Instant straight away. As you begin typing addresses into the URL bar, the pages load instantly. AS you continue typing, it’s supposed to make it quicker for you to get to your most used websites. Chrome Instant will need to be enabled in the settings however, once you’ve upgraded to version 9!

Volkswagen’s Superbowl Ad!
With the 2011 Superbowl just around the corner, seeing the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers, many big companies are preparing their adverts for perhaps the most anticipated advert break of the year!
A few days before the Superbowl, and a few previews to adverts have been leaked already! One in particular that has become somewhat viral on Youtube, is the Volkswagen Passat advert. I’m sure after watching it, you’ll agree with when I say it’s a rather interesting commercial. I’d never have pictured Volkswagen teaming up with Star Wars to create an advert, it sure makes us wonder about what else we’ll be seeing in other adverts! Enjoy.
Posted by: ChrisNews Corp wave the white flag and put MySpace up for sale.
Some interesting and long-awaited/already-expected news this morning. According to COO Chase Carey,
The new MySpace has been very well received by the market and we have some very encouraging metrics. But the plan to allow MySpace to reach it’s full potential may be best achieved under a new owner.
Yes, it’s a shame about that errant apostrophe before “full potential” (sorry, but good grammar isn’t much to ask for) and also his misrepresentation of the facts as, according to comScore, Myspace visits and pageviews are down 50% in 3 months since the redesign, but this statement couldn’t make the facts anymore clearer: they’re wanting to get rid of MySpace.
It’s been well-documented that MySpace has been trying to revamp its image for some time to no avail. After changing its design and then laying off 50% of its staff, Murdoch’s News Corp still isn’t satisfied with the financial picture at MySpace. They are looking at other possible options too, however, including bringing new investors on board, but there’s no doubt that they’ll just want to wash their hands of this as soon as possible.
